[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]15th February 2017 – SADD was happy to invited to the annual NGO Connex at Varsity College, where we were able to talk to students and teach them about road safety and substance abuse.
The event started at 10:00, and students were streaming in and out of their quad area as they were going to attend classes. Other organizations that attended the event were CANSA, the campus wellness department and Virgin Active.
The SADD table was quite popular with students coming to compete for prizes like our branded T-Shirts, Fridge magnets and wristbands. Our Drunk Buster Goggles (popularly known as beer goggles) were a hit with the students. They give the sensation of what it feels like to be impaired, by distorting vision.
Activities were planned by Junior Trainer, Mellisa Muchena, for the students to have have a ‘sober experience’ of what it feels like to be drunk.
“Thank you to SADD for opening my eyes literally to what heavy alcohol abuse can do.”
Leanne (Varsity College Student)
We are always grateful for the continued support that we receive from the campus wellness department and hope to[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”546″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”506″][vc_single_image image=”505″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
