[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The SADD team constructed a mini road with road signs and road markings. The children were divided into cars and pedestrians and cars and cyclists. The children who were cars carried boxes to indicate the size of cars. The children practised interacting on the road and following the road signs.
Nonjabulo Hadebe from the SchoolTrade GAP program acted as a translator and lead the class through the road ‘obstacles’. The children practised stopping at a stop sign, looking right, left and right before crossing the road, using a zebra crossing and indicating with their arm when cycling. They also learnt about walking facing the traffic and reflective gear. Each child received a reflective wristband at the end of the session.
